Hi all! I was wondering how many wheat pennies and copper pennies you find on average, how much you search through and % of copper pennies. I am interested to see what others get. I generally buy a $50 bank bag and find 25-33% copper and about 15 wheats. Tell me how you guys do.
I do 8 boxes a week. I average about ~10 wheats per box. I don't keep copper or count it out but I would guess that it is roughly 20-25%.
I usually get around 12-20 wheats per $25 box. As far as copper is concerned, I have a great %, usually between 25-30% per box. I would say that approx. 10% of the wheats I find are pre-1940 though.
Hey Zach do you sell all the copper when you get a lot and how much do you make this has been a question i have had for a while but i have been saving all the copper cents !!
Nope. Couldn't find any takers so I dumped it at my bank's coin counter and used the cash to add more nickel boxes to my rotation.
I've only ever searched one $25 box and it had 18 wheats and $6.09 in copper. I get all my wheats from work which lately has been 5-15 per day. Today I had a half day and I found 4.
My current total is 219. I've only been collecting wheats for a few months and I found about half of them within the past few weeks because of my new position at work. I work in the money office of a large supermarket so I spend my days surrounded by thousands of dollars in coins and bills. Occasionally I find some silver too!
Hardly any. I found a silver dime this week and a silver quarter last week. But before that I haven't found any in a while. I only have a handful of silver coins.
Not worth the time. I would have had to pay shipping plus time wasted going to and from the post office. At least I was able to get new coins right away from the bank as soon as I finished dumping.
