hello all. recently i had been saving up for a new guitar, however i got it for my birthday. so now i have $540 to spend. :O and i was wondering if someone could give me some examples of really nice high grade cheap nickels for the shields, liberties, and buffalos. (no jeffs cause i can get one for $1) my collection is going to be from shields-present. thanks. -coingeek12
Depends on your definition of cheap? You can pick up some nice Proof 63/64 Liberty V nickels in the 350 range
1883 on both the shield nickel 1883 no cents on the liberty nickel most later years in the series can be had for not much money in MS63-MS65 You should be able to get these all in MS with money left over to buy something else too.
Don't let that money burn a hole in your pocket. There is absolutely no reason to rush out and buy something, especially if you're looking for "cheap". Take your time to learn about the coins you presently desire, and do some soul searching before buying, and even then focus more on the coin itself and less on the price vs. grade.
No need to spend it all check this out and you may have some to put aside for later https://www.northeastcoin.com/inventory.jsp#
I would need to see a clear image of the guitar to know if you should return it and use those funds for coins as well.
Ernie Ball? Music man perhaps. Looks like a keeper, and if you sit at a bus station and play it with the case open people will give you coins!
I have some Liberty nickels that I'll give you a good deal on. Let me know via PM if you're interested.
An original 59? Yeah, no kidding.... I am not familiar with that PRS model, but if similar to their other instruments, I am sure it's quite nice. Congrats, and I look forward to the photos.
Can we just talk about guitars if we glue coins to them? or maybe we can pretend they're coins. I recently bought a 2012 Guild Dreadnaught. It has some marvelous rosewood toning and is nickel wound plated.
1938-D Buffaloes in MS65-66 are pretty cheap, but don't just buy the first one you find. Hold out for one with a really nice strike. Check the shoulder fur on the buffalo specifically. I just bought a couple of these. Should be in the 45-65 range roughly.
