1882-o Morgan dollar that I believe to be dimples due to the clear 6" of reflectivity and contrast. The thing is I am stumped whether sending it to PCGS to slab is wise. I believe it is a 63 or 64. 63dmpl money is 250-300 bucks 64dmpl is around 1100-1300$. I have taken it to numerous dealers they all say it has a chance at 64 and definitely think it's dimples. I'd like to get your opinions guys. Thanks!
Coin isn't even close to 64 more like a 61 or 62 with all those marks and the rim looks pretty rough also . Maybe it's the pic but I don't think so , sorry .
I don't think it will make DMPL at PCGS if it only has 6" of reflectivity, and a 63 would only be a possibility. I don't see a 64 in its future. Chris
The pictures do not show reflectivity at all. Can't make a call about PL or DMPL based on those images. From that picture, it is a garden variety 63. Don't waste the submission fee.
from the pics neither maybe 62 but I am old school with new grading perameters maybe.i have thought about sending some of my old holders in so I can take advantage of the more lacks grading standards we have now.
PLs do tend to show hits more than non prooflikes , I'm still surprised it received a 63 . Glad you got a 63 , sure beats the 61 or 62 I thought it would get .
