2012 d nickel and 1994 d penny ddo

    Both coins are damaged. There are a million potential ways for a coin to be damaged so I can't be sure what happened to each coin other than the damage was post-mint.

    Now I'm sure it's one of the great mint errors and worth probably one billion dollars.

    It's damage, plain and simple. No way it could have left the mint like that.

    an how long has it been in your trunk getting bumped around an having stuff thrown an fall on it? face it, heavily damaged.

    About a week with nothing else back there lol and still doesn't explain there being 2 with almost identical markings, both of which have d's stamped on the dents and the 97 has quarter like ridges... lol

    How many recks has that car been in before or after you bought it ? those coins are beat up about as bad as I am.

    Because they were both damaged in similar fashions...there is no event in the minting process that could fit the appearance of your coin...therefore it is not something that happened during the minting process, and is therefore not an error.
