A few people who I won't name were complaining about various things on my coin show thread.

So because I'm such a nice guy I have attempted to satisfy their demands(Now will you people please give me back my coins?;)). James II rev.png

I don't know what I like more: the coin or the penmanship on that note!

It's actually the envelope it came in, and yes I love it too.

Written with an old-fashioned fountain pen. Not a very common sight these days!

Hmmm, I have a friend who does this sort of stuff, maybe she'd make some of these for me.

Your coin is from 1688. Not a very good year for James II since he abdicated his throne that year. His son-in-law and daughter (William and Mary) assumed the throne.

My coin is from 1690. Not a better year for the hapless James II. He lost the Battle of the Boyne decisively that year, forcing him to leave Ireland permanently for France.

This is the lovely couple that replaced James II:

I have been reading a book called " The lost coins of early Americans" by Todd Cook.
It is a good book that talks about the coins in this thread. Many of the coins can be had for 20 dollars in low grades.
I really like the William and Mary coin. I hope to get one some day, along with a 6 pence of Elizabeth 1.
