US 20 Dollar Notes

Could any please tell me if these 2 notes are still valid, spendable worldwide or no longer in circulation.

Yes for sure you still see them time to time in circulation but to many were made for them to be worth more then face in that grade

 

Thanks was given them from a friend as ill be going into Vietnam soon, the visa on arrival cost is 45usd cash so ill give these notes to their immigration poeple

sometimes ill educated cashier won't accept them cause they don't have the new security features.

 

i thought saw or heard that some countries would only take current currency versions..i guess its a counterfeit thing for US currency and a demonetized thing for other countries

Thanks . I'll see what they say when I hand the notes over. Will make sure have some newer currency notes if don't except.

 

ok, now this is making me feel old when someone asks if currency made since I was in the Navy can still be spent

Well, the Ortega/Baker '85 is as old as I am.

As was stated before, many countries will not take pre-redesign US currency, and some countries will reject currency that has lost it's crispness (Africa, mostly.) If you're going to Vietnam, I'd bring post 1999 notes.
