well, my friend found a 1910 cent in a vending machine... My friend: "I'm NOT going to sell ya this for 15 cents!! It's 103 years old and it' must be rare and valuable!!!"
well oldest end on a roll was a 1859 IHC that i got today, but inside a roll i think was an 1890s IHC and the oldest wheat was a 1916, these being (possibly) unsearched rolls from flea-bay
do half dollar rolls count? i found an 1847 large cent in a roll my grandma gave me oldest in a cent roll was an 1882, bought that roll out of the register at a dollar store
A worn almost flat large cent with no date found in a roll of halves. An expert indicated that the date was an 1814 based upon characteristics on the reverse. An Edwardian British Long Cross Silver Penny in a roll of dimes.
Hey all, I am new to CoinTalk as well after reading for several months. I am mostly a penny roll searcher, only been at it casually for six months or so but already found a nice 1905 IH in a bank roll as well as a 1909. I feel pretty lucky because I've seen that some people go years without finding an IH in the wild.
This is very true I have roll searched for a few years on and off, but do not recall ever finding one. Oh and Welcome to CT!
probably doesnt count, but today i found an 1865 2c coin, scratched nearly beyond recognition, in a CWR roll of quarters (this roll also contained 5 silvers)
