Interesting Chilean note derick... Well clay your FC blocks surely didn't disappoint! Very tough notes! I will just say it, im jelous... To Satisfy my addition to Native American vignettes I picked up this obsolete from the Dayton Bank in St. Paul Minnesota. I believe the bank failed before its notes actually went into circulation and they seem to be somewhat scarce. They are available but I would value this pickup around $150. I paid well less than a third of that... Any opinions welcome!
And another new $5.00 FRN: It was given the Net designation with a comment of "Previously Mounted". It looks very nice to me!
So I'm not really a bill collector but I pulled these out of the change box we have at work from selling sodas and chips and stuff. Dunno much about star notes besides the fact that I've never seen one before
i always wanted one of these specimen notes. just never got to add one before i sold off my collection.
Thanks Mat! Clay, I like the specimens they are great! US specimens are about the only specimens I would like to add to my collection... Furry frog, they are both very circulated so the premiums would be small. The $1 isn't from a low run but the $5 2006 Chicago is from a 640,000 run so I would keep that one. You can find more information about the low runs at: www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference Here is a Chinese note I picked up at the local show as well:
Another new note - This one from Thailand of the 5th Series, 1942 to 1945. It's a 1 Baht Remainder Note. This is the issued note:
Picked up this note at a local flea market this morning. P-S465a maybe AU. Sorry for the poor quality scan of the reverse. Any idea what the stamps on the reverse mean? Mike
The top one is a validation stamp. The bottom one is a revenue stamp showing the payment of a two centavo tax.
It is a private bank issue. Mexico must have had a tax on notes from banks. The US federal government put an end to paper money issues by state chartered banks by placing a 10% tax on the notes.
Misaligned digits certainly appear on just one serial number. Here is another example from my collection:
