Nice Peace Dollar Nycmacman but that's a bad hit on the lip. I like the toning on the reverse as well. As for the grade, I'll let others comment on that as I'm not very familiar with this series

Hope you did not throw 63 money after it. Do not see it grading with that toning.

Okay, but you shouldn't buy things and rely on the opinions of others in deciding to return, especially when it has not even arrived yet. If you like the coin, this is what should matter most, and not what others say or think.

You have a type that toning is particularly tough with, and beyond this I must respectfully say that I do not like the overall condition for making it in a graded holder, but again and depending on what you paid, this should not be the deciding factor in if you like or keep the coin.

I need honest opinions honestly, Im ok with the condition but not if the toning is artificial. I paid under 50 for it

So if someone could tell me if its natural in their opinion that would be amazing

It does not matter if it is artificial or not; what matters is if it is acceptable or not. Considering my humble opinion that it would/should not grade out for other reasons, the toning (again IMO) is of no real consequence.

I respect your opinion, I dont mind the nicks etc, but the toning to me is a big issue thus im asking for opinions if its artificial or not.

Do you think it would be put in a details slab? I want this coin to be in a slab regardless of the condition and not have a details grade based upon the toning.

So if anyone can confirm its authenticity or not that would be great.

I don't see anything that automatically makes me question its authenticity, and yes, I do believe it will go into a details/genny slab, but I also don't like how the coin was photographed.

As for the toning, it is hard for me to get past the other concerns, but from what I can see, I don't like it as having been a totally natural occurrence. To my eyes at least, it has the look of having had some help somewhere along the way, but this does not mean it was intentionally done. However, there are others here who I would differ to on the technicals of this as I've long been one to avoid if I've any concerns.

If I remember correctly, Dave Bowers once wrote (his silver dollar encyclopedia perhaps?) that for some reason I cannot recall, the 26-P usually and naturally toned to a golden color, but please don't hold me to the date on this one. This again is not to say that a coin without this characteristic is a problem as this is obviously not the case, but do understand that colorful toning on a Peace dollar is almost always looked at as suspect. Not that color cannot or has not occurred on this type, but they are not like and do not tone like Morgans.

I don't feel the coin will grade. It's had a hard life. I'm not even looking at the toning. It's going to come back as damaged.

That coin has definitely been cleaned and has damage---looks like drop marks and nicks to me. The toning? Let's let the AT/NT debate set aside--that type of toning is often faked, suffice to say. The coin is not worth slabbing, due to its damage.

Tough crowd here. IMO, for less than $50, if you like it keep it. Is that mark by the lip raised?

Honestly if I got it for scrap I would keep it haha but not at almost double scrap with no nusimatic value
