MAD Nickel

So I found this the other day in my nickel boxes. I've seen MAD coins before and I know that they aren't worth much but this is one of the biggest MAD's I've seen since I've been searching. Do you think it has any extra value?

Well, it does have some value over face, especially if sold on eBay. A check of completed auctions shows this type of error sells in the $4.00 range. Here's a current listing for (4) nickels at $19.99 BIN:

Yours is more pronounced, so it may carry a premium above these.

 

Cool. I almost threw it back since I always read that MAD's aren't worth anything. I figured that this was more pronounced and decided to keep it.

Thank you for the clarification as the only 'Mad' I could think of was 'General Mad Anthony Wayne' and I know he ain't got a dog in this race........
