hello all! have been visiting this page for a while, and decided to join. I spend a lot of time searching rolls , and have had some great luck-indian head cents, v-nickles, silver, etc. I did come accross two wide am 1998 and wide am 2000 cents, after i became aware of these errors/varieties. The other day however, i found what I am 100 percent positive is a close am 92 d cent--the bases of the a and m touch, FG is farther and a bit higher from stairs, and no serif on base of g....compared to all photos online, and next to a regular ( wide) 92 d. pretty nice shape, some small blotches of discoloration, with redish hues on obverse ( lincoln's shoulder/bottom of bust). WHAT DO I DO NOW?! i will try to get some pics on here, but digital camera busted. I have never sent anything to get graded, but think i should? also, what is opinion on value? i will most likely look to sell.

hello again--if anyone is interested, please look back at my original thread i started about finding a 1992 d close AM cent under name greg79. I finally was able to get some pictures on here using a digital camera and putting a small magnifying glass in front of lens.--after i was able to just plain log back on this site by creating a new username. But all good now....EAGER to see what everyone's opinion is.

1992P close AM cents are the very very rare ones, going for tens of thousands of dollars, with the 1992D cents (what you have) being found more often, though they are still pretty rare (but there are definitely more than 8 known 1992D close AMs...I think there are a few dozen known). You could probably pull a few thousand from it if slabbed I would think.

Congrats on the find, I would say this is an AU example. Not sure if a TPG will ding you for corrosion or questionable color, they're not kind to these zinc cents.
