Hooray! The 1915 Matte Proof Buffalo Nickel PR-65 PCGS (OGH) - GOLD Label CAC. Anyone have a guess at what this puppy would grade if resubmitted. I think it is at least PR-67 maybe even PR-68. I don't plan on regrading but I'm just curious what your thoughts are. This is the ONLY 1915 Nickel, Proof of Business strike, to have been given a GOLD CAC Label. Hopefully you can see why

My thoughts, keep it in the OGH and enjoy it.

    Ditto, Scotti!

Not only would you lose the OGH, but the Gold CAC as well. I'd leave it alone.

That is about the finest Type II I have ever seen. Congratulations on the spectacular specimen.

Nice coin, I too would leave it in the OGH

As to what It would regrade at I'd say no higher than a 6 due to what appears to be carbon specs. IMO

While you are correct, there are a few carbon flecks, they are only visible under magnification and are in no way distracting to the coin's overall eye appeal. This coin has been cared for wonderfully over the last 98 years.

Thank You. I am in total agreement and have been watching auction sales of Matte Proof Buffs for a while (10 months) and I have not seen a single finer 1915.

FWIW I like it in the OGH, it was graded during a different era when graders were a lot more picky than they are now. It is a coin I could easily enjoy populating my collection with.

Very nice coin. I'd say 66+ or 67, IMO. Very mesmerizing, regardless!

Beautiful coin. Keep it as it is and let someone else take the gamble when you are tired of it. Just my opinion.

The sticker looks like a fake sticker, scratch and sniff it to verify authenticity (kidding). That's interesting with the CAC stickers. Since it is external, what confirms the authenticity of such stickers?

    The coin is extremely attractive.

Try and remove them and they degrade, rather like the registration sticker on your license plate.

Yes, of course. It's not the removal I'm concerned with, it's the potential for fake stickers appearing on real slabs. Someone can print similar stickers and have a field day.
