this is a Double die 1985 cent I found I always like to get a second opinion Im usually pretty good but here are the images i took.
so the MD is the same as a strike double? Huh? I was told on lincoln cent source by coppercoins.com they are 2 different things now you telling me their the same? its not an MD for sure MDs are very sharp in the doubling where as DD are alot rounded or smoother in doubling.
Machine doubling and strike doubling are pretty much the same. Machine doubling and a double strike are not the same. Machine doubling and a doubled die are not the same.
Strike doubling tends to be flat almost like the feature were dragged across. A true double die would show the same rounding as the original die. Also a true double die will produce a number of coins with the exact same doubling and identifiable marks whereas strike doubling does not.
That is correct...also the correct term is doubled die, not "double die". And your coin is not a doubled die.
