Time flies when you are having fun. Come this February, I'll have been posting here for five years and I appreciate you all welcoming me into the mix. I reckon that we oddball coin junkies have to stick together, but all the same I thank you. I don't pay a great deal of attention to likes and such but I did decide long ago that if I wanted to feel like my posts were of value here, that the likes I receive should at least be twice the number of posts that emanate from my big mouth... It seems I surpassed that goal and didn't even realize it.... So to commemorate that achievement I'll post the first coin that I posted on this site. It is a Spanish Cobb that came from the coast of the South Carolina Port Royal, Beaufort area not long after Hurricane Hugo paid us a visit.... Thanks again for accepting me and making me feel part of this extended family.
Neat. Congrats. Nice Cobb. I detected a replica once February 15th I celebrate 10 years on CoinTalk I will be in Rock Hill South Carolina in May Another Detecting live event.
Other than the detector you won last time that you were here, I never heard if you scored anything to speak of when you detected our state last year.
Oh.. I found my first ever Civil War bullet! The one in the middle. 3 Ringer. And I believe the small one on the bottom right.
Congratulations on your milestone. Port Royal sounds familiar. I believe that's where the N.S Savannah was. Used to see it every morning when we were in Port. I don't think it ever moved.
Congratulations my friend! I almost didn’t give you a like as you have so many but you said you didn’t pay much attention about them so I did. Lol Glad to have you with us.
Always nice to achieve a milestone! However, I wouldn't get too hung up on Likes. In my experience, these things do not always correlate with quality. Of course, I like hanging out in the "General" section where this is more true than elsewhere in the forum There are also cliques of users that systematically Like posts within the group while excluding a selected group of other's by rule. I wish that I had the dataset available for statistical analysis, it would be an interesting study in conformity manipulation at the digital level
Of which you mean 'coins', right? Heck, if that were the case I'd of been drummed out of here ages ago......(devil)
Like, um . . . yeah, like . . . y'know, like . . . I really like yer posts Randy. Score 1 fer Randy and 3 fer Valley Speak, whoever that is . . .
The other thing to consider on this forum is the timing that "likes" were implemented. I don't recall what year that feature was turned on but there are plenty of people in this forum that were members long before "likes" and they have just not caught up to their posts.
