I didn't know this until after I won it. I read what Rick tomasca had to say in his guide book and he mentioned that 61 has far fewer cameos than 62&3. Even more reason to like the coin!
Well this one was sent all the way from Germany . Free too from a CoinTalk buddy . I have always said CoinTalk members and memberships are Great to buy from trade and in my case free. «^»
Here are some of the highlights of this week's purchases. The 1934s Peace was in a lot of old US coins that I got a good deal on as junk from a local pawn shop. Didn't realize this was in there until after I got home and was sorting through the lot!
When Rick was at R&I coin I had R&I submit this 1963 . I knew if I sent it in the grade would not be the same.as had I been down that road before it was 1st graded as your free beez for joining Ngc it came back PR-65. but Rick sends it or should I say R&I its a PR-68Cameo.I guess if you write a book 3 points+cameo helps??
By the way, that pair of Sac 2008 P and D coins are obviously the SMS coins, second best ever-MS 68 with pops around 50, and have successive NGC serial numbers in the 25th anniversary holder--how cool is that? Love it. That is one where buying the holder was as cool as getting two beautiful coins as well--killed two birds with one stone!!
Just got this Chain Cent in the mail. I haven't had time to take high quality pictures yet. The pictures I have taken and posted below do not display the coin as well as I would like due to the holder having several small surface scratches that I can't seem to avoid. Still, I've been wanting a Chain Cent for a long time and I finally got one that received a clean (non-details) grade.
Here's my newest acquisition.... It was a bit of a gamble based on the sellers photos, but I'm very happy with the toning! Looks good in my registry set and 1888 is a lucky number Sellers pics: http://www.ebay.com/itm/American-si...50W0GyunoxgVqsDXI8v7Y%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Mine:
Nice Greg !!!!!!!!!!!! Are they grade or raw ? I know 1941+1945 P-D-S over MS63-65FB are a Very low population coin to Pcgs+Ngc Pcgs Their real hard all Mercury Dimes Ngc is were I would go ! !
Ok here's some recent items I've acquired. Some I have posted before and I've just reshot some pictures and thought they looked better than the previous photos. A couple are gonna be actual newbies though that just came in the mail yesterday and today. The first one is an 1877-S trade dollar. First pictures are the seller photos. My photo Next is a decent half-cent I picked up. Has a slight 15 degree rotation on the reverse. The next two are coins I've already shown but these photos looked better to me. 1931-S Wheatie 1917-D SLQ Found this in my register last week also.
Picked this one up--conditional rarity for Sacs. Only 22 at this grade, and only 3 higher. Seller's picture, and on its way here.
I think a lot of collectors have the Sacs, especially the low mintage Satim (SMS) issues. Who knows how many are being hoarded, and just neither circulated or sold?
