It’s a 1923 d with a die crack. A die chip on the chin. Some interesting lines coming off just above the lips. Now the eagle side truly shines. It was still in the coin holder then I took it out because the holder was well aged. Why is it so shiny? Is it a proof side?

The reverse of your coin looks like it has been polished, like with a jewelers rouge wheel. Which would relieve it of any numismatic value, and leave only its silver content value.

If it was a stacked coin. Would it have this effect?

No, because the coin has obviously been polished.

To shine like that only happens from one thing-being polished. What a shame.

Its a shame the coin has been polished but you can still have some enjoyment out of it. If you go to the VAM World web site you can try to match up the die crack and chip to a known VAM.
