That is definitely NOT DDO-001. For one thing, I don't even think it's a doubled die. Even if it was, the spread would not be in the correct direction for die 1. In order for a coin to be a certain doubled die, it needs to look pretty much IDENTICAL to it. This one does not resemble die 1. I think it is mechanical doubling.
It's not die 2 either. There's no notching. Again, a coin needs to look pretty much identical in order to be a doubled die. Put an image of die 2 right next to an image of your coin and you will see the difference. 1972 was a year that had a lot of mechanical doubling. I'm fairly certain that is what you are seeing here.

I do agree that it is not a DD, but is MD. The magnification and detail of your photos is sufficient to determine if is is, and which die it might be, but such expert opinions are good to have if one feels the necessity.
