sadly dawg => I got outbid on my big-shooter!! (some dude bid almost 4x the estimate) ... yah, that's even more than I'm willin' to pay!! (and that's sayin' somethun'!!) => it wasn't nicer than your coin anyway ... top-drawer (take it!!)
Ishhhh... That was morbidly obese bid if it took you off !! Anyway, you had some other beauties aligned there, hopefully your wallet is fat enough to seduce a few of those nymphs And it's auctions season... look around my friend, great coins are blossoming everywhere
Well, I do currently have three more phillies ... but they're all somewhat bit players when compared against your coin (hey, don't get me wrong => they're all super-cool, but they aren't big-shooters) ... oh, but stay tuned ... they'll be hitting the airwaves soon enuf!! Oh, and you're definitely correct => you can't swing a dead cat without hittin' an auction during this time o' year, eh? ... and lovin' it!!
Let yourself go Bing... I really shouldn't have spent that much but, still, I'm very comfortable with my decision
I always feel good with a coin purchase regardless if it is in the budget or not! This coin takes the cake though. I need to track down a Griffin for myself yet. Steve yours too! That toning is drool worthy or, and I will steal this word from Noob, phat!
Yeah, me too. I overdid it some this summer with gold, which is why I haven't posted much in the way of newp. I bought about three ounces in classic gold, and my wife got two ounces of jewelry. Well that and my two week old son. Oh, I bought some other stuff, just haven't posted about it.
Alex is doing great. He is bigger than his brother was. Right now I am tracking down a nice Alex III Tet. Since I bought Julian the 2011 ASE set, I am buying Alex all of the 2013 ATB pucks. Gotta get them collecting early.
Lol. You are saying that simply because you already know I have him covered for those, as well as Dvaravati, Lanna, Mon, Ayuttaya, Sukothai, etc etc.
Well, I hate to throw cold water, Chris, but good luck with that. My boys' recreations consist of girls and video games. Coins are for spending. On girls. And video games.
Well I was a geek and have collected coins since I was 4. I am kind of hoping my boys are geeks too, but I know unfortunately maybe they won't be if they take after their mother. I am kind of resigned to the fact that maybe their only joy my coin collection will ever give them is the day they sell them.
You guys don't know about the Supreme Geek. I collect ancient coins AAAAANNNNDDD play videogames, while refreshing cointalk.
I feel ya. I had 14 level 85's in WOW and about 5 million in gold in the game before KIDS happened. I would say its fair to say that most people would consider all coin collectors and video game players geeks, those of us doing both just embrace the label.
I'm not averse to video games, but they don't seem to hold my interest very long. I kill a few zombies and I'm done...
I think you guys have it all wrong. My youngest was the coin geek. Marcus collected coins and played videogames while still feeding off his mother's .... well, you know.
Great Coin Dionysos! I'm not going to be on much for the next few weeks... Rome II: Total War came out on Tuesday, so I have been playing that for pretty much all of my breaks... Great game with some gamebreaking bugs if you have a weak computer. I may be posting some screenshots of the game to go with some coins in my collection.
