well my girlfriend Jenny suprized me and went and recycled my $50.00 dollars in dimes for some new $50 BWR bank wrapped rolls. on the 8th roll I found my very first mercury dime... a 1924-D silver dime. talk about making my day... nothing like finding silver coins at the banks still.

I'm amazed that you seem to find at least one per box. I usually go through "feast or famine"...nothing or A BUNCH! You are very consistent with your findings. Great work!

I went into my bank during my work errands this morning, as I was waiting in line an older lady came in with a coffee can full of neatly wrapped cents - she had been holding onto them for awhile. She ended up having $23 worth - sold them to the teller who winked at me like "their yours for the taking" and I bought them when she left.

The rolls were heavier than normal for a CWR with zinc, so I figured there must be a lot of bronze - bonus - and sure enough there was. The latest date in the whole bunch was 1983. I found several wheats scattered through the rolls and then near the end of the 46 rolls I opened up a roll and 49 of the little darling wheats rolled out along with curiously a 1983 cent.

    The wheats were the bomb:

    1916
    1919
    1920
    1925
    1926
    1930
    1935
    1936
    1937 X 3
    1939 X 2
    1940 X 2
    a 1940-S
    1944-S
    1947-S
    1949-S
    1952-S

And 42 more coins from 1941-58

Also with the requisite neighbours from the Ice Box:

    Canada GVI 1943, 1947ML 1951
    and 11 YH QEII.

I ended up buying a box of BWR cents and nickels, the cents were ho-hum. The nickels produced a dateless buffer, a 1939, a 1944-P and a 1945-P and some 20 or so pre-1960 dates.

Received some halves from the teller and as she handed me the coins she commented "Oh, that one's a pretty one." That Ben Franklin sure is!

    Box #11 of Halves: Skunk
    Box #12 of Halves: Skunk
Box #13 of Halves: 1-40%, 1-Ben There it is! That's my 1000th and 1001st silver coin found since joining this board not quite a year ago!!!! :D:D:D

559 Boxes searched plus numerous teller trays: 706-40%, 264-90%, 31-Dimes. 202.15 OZ of silver.

Today was a very interesting day at work. There was a group of tourists from Japan that came in and took a tour of the store and as they were leaving one of them handed me this Japanese Yen and said, "A gift for you."

This is my first Japanese coin and I can't believe how light it is. Only 1 gram of Aluminum. Very happy to have received this.
