please see my first thread about the details that started this complaint, it is titled ebay scam! this is an update to that thread. now this criminal seller is trying to say that if i get a refund for the coins he will consider that to be theft and take legal action against me. i have just about had enough of this. i called ebay and told them everything that he is saying, and they are looking into things. the nerve of this seller, he lies about the items he is selling, (outright fraud) and then because i called him out about his bussiness practices, he trys to twist everything around and accuse me of being a crook. i have got a mind to report him to the police for fraud. i am sick of liars and criminals.

Why a separate thread for what is nothing more than a continuation of the previous thread?

I read a part of your thread...

That is feedback extortion, and a violation of eBay's policies, I would send eBay a copy of that email.

I know the other members on here put you down because it's such a low dollar amount..but if the seller is extorting feedback and making false claims, it sounds like they need a little "vacation time" from eBay.

Save yourself the trouble/stress and consider the whole episode an inexpensive lesson. There is not a police office in the country that can afford to do anything for an upset customer of a $5 coin sale...

How many transactions is his 100% rating based on?

earlier today the seller had 42 tranactions. i had mentioned in an earlier post that his most recent positive feedback was some buyer saying how they received coins that are worth millions from the lots. that type of feedback cannot be real.

what about the seller telling me that if i get a refund for the coins, then he will consider that to be theft and take legal action against me? that is the part of this episode that really made me angry at the seller. he really lied and tried to twist things around to his advantage.

I'm going to have to agree, for $5 worth, this is way too much drama for me. Rate how you feel, keep the coins and forget it.

Is it fair to get a refund and keep the merchandise?

But seriously, both you and the seller are making this into a much bigger deal than it needs to be. Just keep the coins and leave negative feedback, or return the coins at your expense, get the refund and leave negative feedback.

yes, you are correct. i have read a few of your postings and i can see that you have a much clearer understanding of things. i see that some of the others on here give you a hard time. i think this might be because they don't want any reality to get in the way of their fantasy about the world. it is nice to hear someone making sense. keep up the good posts.

i never wanted to keep the coins and get a refund too. i think that because the seller was not at all honest about the coins and they are nothing like what he described, that he should pay the exact costs for the return shipping of the coins.

Right, but if he refuses to pay for the return then what are you options? It's wrong to misrepresent your sale and in a perfect world the seller would pay for the return, I get it. On the other hand, is $5 worth all the stress and drama? Making mistakes like these are how we learn, on the bright side it only cost you $5.

The police will do absolutely nothing unless you happen to live in the same small town which I doubt. However, you bought this on eBay. eBay guarantees it. You might try calling eBay, I assure you they would get you money back even if it is only $5. But then that would be too simple, wouldn't it.

BTW, eBay works very well without all the drama and threats. I suspect you will have problems if you use either.
