these are the first world notes that i have purchased, they were included in a group of coins. i don't know what they are or what they are worth. any opinions?
Only problem is those look like the 1970s era notes - in old pesos which are worthless now. The notes have a nominal collectable value but no face value anymore. Mexico redenominated their currency ca. 1992-3 at 1000 old = 1 new.
i bought a bag of 256 current pesos at a flea market for $15. did i get ripped off? they are all from 1994-2005, except a 1987 $50 coin that looks the same as the newer ones
I have a bag of $100(100peso) 84-92 ,I use them as checker pieces, heads ,tails, Reform coinage began in 92, 1000 old =1 new, but like all banks, currency only, no coin , next time your in Mexico..
The $50 coins are worthless - so much so that migrant workers have seemed to have figured out that they are useful as "quarters" in the Midwest of the USA - since they are oft found in the reject slots of coinstar machines.
The current exchange rate is about 12.5 peso to the dollar. A good deal if the pesos are current and you're on you way to Mexico.
