There are about 6 iterations of the 1896 Far 6 large cent. The most desirable is the Far, Far, High 6, with the 6 tilted to the left (CCW) and a large die crack through CANADA on the obverse. Here is a Far, High 6, without the die crack. Lots of photos and information here: http://canadiancoppercoins.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=1257
1895 Canada Large Cent, nothing rare here, just, I think, a nice raw circulation coin, but curious on your opinions on grade?
I'd put it in the AU range. It looks to be similar to the large coppers I've had graded that came back AU55.
Posted this in the New Foreign thread, but this is where it really belongs. Added this to my collection of modern Canadian S$1 coins - 1986 Vancouver Centennial. Seller pics. I know I don't have many, but now I have 1981 (PCGS PR68DCAM), 1982 (PCGS PR69DCAM), 1984 and this 1986. Working on the cheap ones first, right?
Canadian Silver Dollar 1935 MS66 PCGS Really nice example of this one-year type, issued for the Silver Jubilee of the reign of George V. Note the considerable differences in the shape and size of the portrait and legends on the 1935 compared to the 1936 (last King George V silver dollar). The mintage was rather large for a Canadian silver dollar at 428,707 pieces, and they are fairly obtainable in lower Mint State grade. But the MS66 grade of this piece as well as the exceptional surface color make it a standout coin. Haxby prices this at $650, CCN Trends at $700, CoinsandCanada.com at $740. Enjoy! Best Regards, George
SPP Ottawa => thanks Dawg!! => great lookin' test tokens!! (but man, $1900 would have bought you a lot of geology specimens!!) I hope life is treatin you well!! (life and I are lovin' each other!!)
1936 Canada Silver Dollar MS65 PCGS The second and last year of the George V silver dollars, the 1936 was struck to the extent of 306,000 pieces compared to 428,000 for the first-year 1935, and as expected, high-grade examples of the 1936 are considerably harder to come by. (Nonetheless, both mintage figures would appear generous by the standards of issues of a few years later, the 1937 and 1939 [especially], and the 1945-48 strikes.) This piece lists for $675 in Haxby, $850 in CCN Trends, and $800 at CoinsandCanada.com. Enjoy! Best Regards, George
Life is good Steve... have not bought any coins lately, instead, I bought this bright and shiny thing!! Until winter, this thing is going to consume my spare time... then back to coins!!
