your photos are definitely better but you can tell the scratches are there if you look at the original photos....you got a decent deal on the coin and I would probably keep it....its hard when you sell things on ebay and people return it because of buyers remorse.....i think its a decent coin and wouldn't mind it in my collection but thats just me......plus i always have a hard time letting go of any coins once they enter my possesion and i would worry about him giving me a refund and would definitely get that in hand before returning anything if you could

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

not really knowing anythign about this coin or the grading system...but when i saw your pictures, my first thougth was..."oh, that looks much nicer than sellers pics". didn't notice the scratch at first, it is but it is more prominant.

Something from personal experience - if you don't 100% like the coin, you should return it. Very rarely would it "grow on you".

I would be more careful with your money, Tim. Until you know what you're doing, only buy what you can see in-hand. You aren't doing yourself any favors...

Return it or not.... it's your decision. It's not that bad a coin unless you really thought you were getting a killer deal and you can see that didn't happen. You won't be happy knowing you made the mistake.

I don't understand why people are willing to pay so much for condition. You paid more than $40 for this? Here's mine. It's not as nice, but I paid probably $1, maybe $2 at the most. I'm happy with this perfectly adequate coin to fill that spot in my collection and I'm not agonizing about scratches or whether I got a good deal. Coins are legal tender. Why does everything have to look like a museum piece? Why pay 40 times as much for basically the same thing? Scan.jpg Scan1.jpg

To each their own, some people (in fact, I would say at least 50% of collectors) like eye appeal and luster on their coins.

I know they do. It's a mentality that doesn't make sense to me, especially for collectors like Detecto who is apparently spending his entire paycheck on coins every week. If I was him, I'd be focusing on cheaper coins instead of blowing my wad of cash on a few pieces like this. Of course he can do whatever he wants with his money.

yeah the obverse looks about the same but the glare defiantly covered the scratch on the back and every thing else wrong i like the coin but not for the amount you payed

  11. Because you bought this coin and you must have liked it why do you need to be told to send it back or keep it.?
Ive always thought that i never wanted my collection to look like what others have i wanted coins that would reflect what i liked and thats what makes each of us a little different from everyone else.
This will have to be what you decide not what others like or dont like.
