A person I know has this for sale, for a reasonable price. However, the "mottled" appearance throws me off. Would like an opinion on grade.
The mottling appears to only be on the reverse edges, so it shouldn't detract from the visual appearance of the coin.
nice Maundy coin ,no real problems mintage 11,132-in the uk it would sell for about £25--my grade would be nearly extra fine
Tim, please note this post above. This coin is *nearly* XF. It's XF- in the UK. By US standards, it might have enough detail to be AU53. The catalogue you use to price your coins are by European grading standards, not US. This is what I've been trying to tell you for the last week or two.
Just as a rule, if you don't like something about a coin before you buy it, you will probably not like it any more after you buy it. Whatever "throws you off" now will probably always "throw you off".
