2003-S and 2006-S Proof Sacagawea Dollars. Two stunning examples! Both are graded by PCGS as PR68DCAM. The obverse toning colors on the bottom coin are unusual to say the least, but it should be noted that the striking cornflower blue color becomes visible only at a particular lighting and viewing angle. (But isn't it interesting that the same cornflower blue color can be seen at to the top of both reverses!). In any case, I was unsure enough about the coloration on the bottom coin that I submitted that one using PCGS's Secure Plus Service, so it could be sniffed for illegal chemicals. Needless to say it passed not only the sniffer, but the eyes of 3 PCGS graders. It's interesting how similar the toning colors and patterns are on the reverse of both coins (a good sign I believe). As a final note, I always thought that the Sacagawea Dollar had one of the most inspired designs in all of our modern coinage -- and the reverse was exemplary in layout and form (and I was sorry when they redesigned the flip side in 2009).
Here is a good capture of how the cornflower blue color "pops" on the 2nd coin above, and how it looks from a more straight down angle. (Caught with my iPhone in indirect sunlight.)
Took a gamble on this Proof 1952 Lincoln based on photos that let my imagination run wild as far as what colors might be hiding. Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised. Not only was there a ton of color, but the gloss was as thick as any I've seen from an early 1950 Proof. Sellers Photos
Dang I was trying to win that one bud. That's the second one you out bid me on lol. Glad you got a beauty brother.
Look what I got today........... I found a nicer one today, so this one might be for sale if anyone is interested.
I've had this one for months now, but I could not image it worth a dang due to slab scratches all over. I sent it to Brandon (BRG5658) who did an awesome job shooting through the scuffs. You can see a bit of 'em casting shadows on the reverse. This one will be going to PCGS and being reholdered someday. Thanks to Brandon for the impeccable images! Edit: The coin is PCGS PR-63 RB
Picked up these at a flea market today. I also got 10 IHC's, but cant post them in this message, so the one that follows will have them
I think we Need to Start a New Thread were at 457 pages and the Page loads Very Very Slow .Just put the Link For New Thread ->
It loads slow because of a couple of inconsiderate posters don't take the time to crop unnecessary backrounds and 2x2 holders before uploading their unnecessarily large pics.
This would definitely be the culprit. Loading large images takes bandwidth and slows it all down... Last night when I was trying to post in this thread, it took me forever to just get to a point in the page where I could hit "Post Reply"... This is why I always crop my photos and upload them as thumbnails so that the page isnt a bazillion pages long..
