Someone with a long history of selling cheap consumer goods is suddenly selling a bunch of CC Morgans.

    From Hong Kong.

    What could possibly go wrong?

I'm leery of ANY coin being sold by a seller overseas...

Look what just happened with one of the Morgans. You can tell they're fake because of the same 2 parallel lines on the eagles chest on all of them.

Yeah, I just checked out the first one, the 1879 CC and it is without question a fake. I just reported it, it will be gone in a day.

What really gets me with these is the seller proudly says, from HONG KONG in the listing. If that don't give you a warm fuzzy, nothing will :)

But since it will be closed in an hour, I hope the "winning" bidder doesn't send money first.

The good news: eBay and PayPal will make it right. The bad news: it may take a while, and it'll impose more costs on eBay, which will eventually show up as higher fees. :(

That '79 CC is so fake it's almost funny:rolleyes:.

Well, I guess they were pulled... and no coins show in his completed auctions either.

They show in his completed auctions when I look. so I would say than ebay hasn't pulled them yet.

They either used the same rev die for all the coins or he used the same rev picture for all of them. (considering they are all rotated precisely the same amount I would guess he used the same picture. In fact each time he repeats a date he uses the same obv picture as well.)

Hmmm... when I click the OP's link it takes me to eBay seller "amazingall", and though based in Hong Kong, never sold a single coin in either completed auctions or in feedback. Maybe the link isn't working correctly for me.

I'm guessing that there were at least two people who recognized it as a fake and wanted to make sure no unsuspecting buyer would "win" it.

That certainly is strange. You have the correct seller. When I click the link I provided, it shows 9 of the Morgans. I am using the Chrome browser on an Android device. Maybe try another browser.

Thanks Mikem... it worked with Chrome but not IE. That's really a strange "eBay glitch". Now I get to see his fake Morgans. Also, I believe this to be hijacked account, which may explain the glitch.
