I would not buy it for that amount. it's a problem coin. in the long run you will not be happy with it. buy 1 that has not been cleaned. if you buy this coin good luck selling it. most collectors will see that whizzed and repaired and run in the other direction.

Lets assume it's not in the holder. Does your opinion change?

Thats a problem coin too. For that kind of money find one in a holder you want to live with.

Can you be more descriptive as to the problem?

    That's in tough shape, too.

My thought? If you are gung-ho about buying one of those now, and the cash is burning a hole in your pocket, go for it. But don't cry about it later.

You can't see all of those scratches? Looks like someone took some steel wool to it.

Both coins are damaged from cleaning and doctoring, and are not worth buying.

Do you know what whizzed means ? It means that somebody went over the surface of the coin with a motorized wire wheel in order to fool the uneducated into thinking the coin has luster.

As for repaired, it looks like the coin was removed from a jewelry mount, and somebody tried to repair the damage done to the coin by the mount so the damage was not so visible.

And no, you should not even entertain the idea of buying that coin.
