Curious to know if anybody else is active in this next big auction? I bid on 6 very high quality coins - all CAC endorsed. My bids were right up to current Numis. and PCGS retails which is higher than current 2013 auction records. As of today I have been significantly outbid!! Anybody else with stories?
Yes, I started to look also but never found anything on my want list that wasn't already bid beyond what I would consider... even after a six pack of spiked koolaid. Nice coins, but nothing that I would have expected to drive such premiums. gonna be a good day to work at HC Monday, after they run the totals.
I don't think it is just CAC coins. I am still high on one coin, but will probably be outbid on it. It seems like people are going wild. Some of the ones I am watching seem reasonable, but the ones I want to bid on go for too much for my tastes.
CAC sticker @ H.A is meaningless 90% of their auctions + Price Guides too!! It's the bank roll that wins it in the End.Or their was a Reserve on coin.? Being Top of the Population can cost ya more than it's worth.
It isn't just CAC's. Here's two Lincoln Memorials: 1968-S MS67R $2,820 with BP !982 Bronze SD MS67+R $7,050 with BP Somebody is spiking the Kool-Aid!
It would appear that the bidiots on E-Bay have moved to a different venue? This is getting scary.......
The big week of the ANA coming up....excitement in the air and who knows what else? Personally I will not be buying anything. The sellers have to wait up to three months from shipping auction lots to getting a check....
You know - even when I sold a bunch of coins on Heritage there were several that went for way more than I expected. Granted they were sweet ones, but I never expected the bidding to go so high. I am just waiting for my last bid to fall.
I've found that you can get decent buys on their regular auctions. might have to check more of them to get what you want. the "signature" or big show auctions seem to get bid up more. more big crowd frenzy? idk
I can not complain about H.A I have sole a few and sold a few.They have been good to me ,slow but at times.
Was looking at some patterns, but they all got bumped out of my price range. I'll have to try again in September (Long Beach).
1 day and 15 hours and I am still high. I bet somebody thinks they can snipe me. If they only knew the next increment puts it too high for my tastes.
I like watching the high end auctions'but I would be more likely to let the reputations of these auctions sell some of my coins then buy from them.
