Mine? It's absolutely a proof reverse...check out the deep grooves... The coin is a business strike...but the reverse die used was the proof die.
Hi, new to the forum so please correct me of any correct etiquette. Attached below are 2 photos of a coin I found just now. It is a 1970D dime with "deep grooves" on the flame. Is there a final verdict on this coin or above ones mentioned? I spotted one very similar on ebay but unsure if that is a representative value. Thanks.
Nice find ... the 1970D RDV-002 I guess are easier find than the 1969 and 1970 counterparts. Keep up the hunt.
Here's a reference I found: http://www.error-ref.com/transitional-reverse-1969--1970-dime-with-proof-re.html
im starting to think that these are not rare at all..after a quick look in my dime pile. I had 8 1970 P's and 17 1970 D's... out of these with the RDV-002 proof reverse were 5 P's and 7 D's ...so im guessing that it seems like these are no big deal. Plus these 25 are well circulated. ...what does everyone else think ???? rare ??? ...not rare ??? from what they find
