Both answers are excellent ones, but not exactly correct. Your second answer is most correct, but off just a smidge, as the Barber half dollar was not minted in 1916.

Since your second answer enveloped the 4 transitions I was looking for . . .

Indian ==> Lincoln Cent in 1909,
Liberty ==> Buffalo Nickel in 1913,
Barber ==> Mercury Dime in 1916 and
Barber ==> Standing Quarter in 1916,

I can't help but pass the baton. You're up next!

Originally released as a commemorative coin, I was so popular that after a 1 year hiatus, I replaced my regular-issue counterpart (even though my predecessor hadn't served the complete 25 year minimum).

    What coin am I?

While not regarded as my equals, I shared my title with two others. Who am I, and who are they?

The barber quarter, and the 2 others are the barber half, and the barber dime.

    Good try Jon, but not the kind of title I'm referring to. Think lord / duke / prince . . . seargent / corporal / captain . . . cent / nickel / dime . . . etc.

Half cent, cent, 2 cent piece. They are all cents.

Getting closer . . . When you think of a title, or a rank, think also of a single denomination.

Nope, Forgive me, as I think I've somehow led everyone astray, so here's one last hint:

All are the same denomination . . . Dollars.

I will never guess this one!
Is it 1 dollar bill one dollar coin and the 1 dollar gold?

Another good guess, but not the correct one. Sorry, I can't give any more hints without completely giving away the answer.

Those three did not share their titles concurrently.

the 1 dollar gold, morgan, and trade dollar?

I was thinking 3 silver dollars . . . the heavier Trade Dollar (1873 - 1885), the Seated Dollar (ended 1873), and the Morgan Dollar (began 1878).

I think your persistence warrants passing the baton.

    Your turn . . . Mike
