severe vibration doubling

    after looking at your picks i had 5 cents once that looked like your coin another site told me it was die damage worthless so i spent it ,,,,

    This one probably a spender, but it is a bit extreme and perhaps an interesting example of the Phenom Mr. Diamond explained.

    Step down and shelves? I wish I had posted this view earlier. I was trying to figure out how to label this example and figured I needed to make sure everybody had this better view.

    I can't tell much from the photo provided. But as Mr. Diamond said (and as I mentioned in my first post), this is die deterioration doubling.

    Mike and non cents told you the truth about this coin . I have one here somewhere in my junk pile that is worse than your coin , the letters are about completely blended together from the die being so badly worn out. the mint workers had to make so many of the state quarters they were probably tired of changing the dies.
