I have entered all the dates and grades for my latest NGC Registry Set. It's Braided Hair Large Cents (1839-1857). I wait until I'm 80-90% complete before I create the registry set. This is not a high grade set. It's a VF-XF-AU set with two MS's. It's a "fun" set for me. Anyway my PCGS coins got added and I popped up as 15th rank. That gets me into the upper third. I still have to load all my images. They're done except for the reverses of two so the loading will be accomplished soon.
Congrats! Do you have a link? Unfortunately, there are those people who must have the best just for the bragging rights. The sad part is that these top sets usually include no photos. I've always felt that points should be deducted if the registry owner fails to provide photos. Chris
Okay, I think I've finally got it. http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/MySets_Listing.aspx?PeopleSetID=156938
I'm not one for registry sets, per se, but I figured if I was going to assemble a set that qualified anyway, I should register it. So here's my one and only registry set. It's my birth year (1962) proof set in NGC Ultra Cameo http://coins.www.collectors-society...etListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=135046&Ranking=ngc oh, and it's ranked #9!
How do registry sets work? Do you submit a coin and sign them up for a registry sets? How many do you need to start a registry set? Also, Does the the grades average out, so if I had a 68 and 66 coin I would be a 67?
