i got a 1938 at the omlete shop, an 1885 v nickle from bob evans, a 1913 d wheatie from my local grocery store, a 1937 buffalo from change from the bank, a 38, 42 & 43 halves from a gas station(i told him that i would take them)...lol. and i found 7 silver washington quarters from the car wash, getting change a 32,36,41,45,55,62 d.
I received this 1912 penny from a change machine at the local Safeway grocery store in September 2010. Where has it been for 98 years?
Not roll searching, probably a 1930's wheat penny. (This doesn't count the 1918 cent I spotted in a bank tray in the 60's and got for a penny). Roll searching, a 1916 mercury dime (no, not a D....too bad).
many coins from the teens and twentys when I was a kid. started checking change when I was 9-10 after my grandfather got me into coins from his collection. but that was 50 yrs ago. lol. it was easy then. recently i got a seated dime (4-5 years ago) when a friend wanted bills for what was in his change jar. wheaties from the 20s in the last couple of years from the local Hess mart.
Well I'm in my 60s so when I was young old coins were not so old then! But I guess the oldest coin I rec'd as an adult was an Indian Head cent in change.
1913 wheat penny in change from Dunkin Donuts. Well, I didn't find it but someone else did and gave it to me.
Weird that I remember this... 48 Wheat 44 Jefferson 65 Roosevelt 65 Quarter 75 Ike Other than two war nickels I've never received any silver in circulation.
