Well I just got back from the Raleigh Coin Show that was this past weekend.

I ended up getting a lot of hole fillers, which I got some nice deals. I am getting into Pennies a lot more, and filled about 10 holes with my indian heads. Got a few semi-semi-semi key dates. (1866, 1867, 1868,1869)

Found a few nice deals on wheats so I picked up a bunch of MS Wheats from 1945-1958
Overall it was a big show, biggest I have been to.

Saw a bunch of high dollar items, such as a 1995w Eagle Proof, and a 1856 Flying Eagle($10000)
I also saw nice indian head proofs, and I think I may be starting a 2-cent set soon. I love the early copper.

Did anyone else go? If so, post your items if you do not mind, I will post a few tomorrow.

Im from Wilmington and went there for a reptile convention, which was across the street. I ended up going to the coin show 3 days.

Wish I'd had more time to spend, especially on that killer NC quarter mint-errors educational exhibit. I did spend probably an hour with the ANACS rep going over some coins, and ended up sending eight for slabbing; I'm expecting most to come back with one sort or another of details grade, but I'm hoping for a nice surprise or two.

I spent three days there and got some really nice gems as well. It was my first time there and I was able to kill two birds with one stone as I stayed with my best friend and got to see him and his family. The show was terrific and not as busy as I thought it would be. Of course, the days were very nice this weekend. Got to meet some neat people and chat up some local dealers.

Yeah I enjoyed myself. Seeing coins way out of my range is always interesting. I have been thinking of sending some coins off to the graders but not sure if I want to slab them. Just a preview from my digital camera but here is a nice xf-bu indian with some questionable toning on the reverse.
