Possible Errors on Two Dimes

    My friend began collecting coins recently and he came up with these two dimes. I am a newbie too so I couldn't help him. Each appear to have extra metal on them. One on the head, the other where the flame meets the torch. Are these errors common? Worth anything besides face value?

    Both appear to be die chips.

    However #1's damage (scrapes) destroys any value.

    [Note: except on eBay.]
