1801 U.S. Large Cent

    1801 Cent Obv.JPG 1801 Cent Rev.JPG How would you grade and value this? It looks to me like it's been cleaned.

    VG-10 details cleaned. Still a nice coin !

    For comparison, here are my insurance shots of my S-223 1801 1c. The seller claimed it was VF-30, ANACS graded it F12, and the EAC grade is likely VG8.

    The details are awfully good on this coin, it seems to me.

    I have a lot of large cents, but most of them aren't this nice.

    It's a good thing coins don't have micro-processors in them...

    ...or you would get a "divide by zero" error.

    The S-223 1801 cent (as well as several other varieties) shows a denomination of 1/000 rather than 1/100.

    Drats, I was hoping to see a 3 errors coin. Despite its warts, still not a bad example.

    1801 is a hot date 1c thru $20.00.
    Google a coin from 1801 and 25+pages show up.:)
