    Numismania You hockey puck!!

I believe it's 'simply' a 'wrong planchet' error, not a double denomination error. Still nothing to turn your nose up at!

In addition to measuring the weight, measure the diameter and thickness. That kind of gives you the density.

Redbook says $350. It might still be altered, however.

If you do purchase it, I'd send it in for authentication and grading for sure.

    Hello Racinghy,

It would be nice to know the precise weight and precise diameter dimension that you measured. Also, did you take some good photos of the obverse, reverse, and edge? This diagnostic data helps to authenticate the cent on dime blank error.

just an FYI. I looked up completed auctions on Ebay and came across this 1 item number 321113468981. sold for $222.+
he mentioned that there is 1 1974 cent at the Smithsonian. the 1 he has is the exact grams weight. he also mentioned that PCGS would not slab his coin saying it was not real. hmmmmm

The feds wont care about a penny stamped on a dime thing. Probably only a real aluminum penny.

He said it's not actually an aluminum penny he said it was a penny struck on a dime
    planchet.

I don't believe that the OP never answered my questions regarding accurate weight, accurate dimension, and he never provided any photos for everyone. Nobody acknowledged the link I posted describing how to make a silver colored cent. Apparently, there is no closure for collect89 on this recent case of the silver-colored cent. :eating:

I'm still here haha Didn't attract to a magnet, going to send it in for grading. Any idea on what plan-thing I should do when I send it in?
