    yes. But technically this was part of the empire the kings were also king of hannover at the time.

    Hi Steve I have not been able to dedicate much time to coins in recent weeks.....

    So did they not rule both lands and the empire then ? Why did they bother putting the shield of Hannover on English coins ? Because they were completely different things I guess.
