^ That. Exactly that. It felt like they jumped ten feet in the air after every snipe!

Not many things in the world are more pleasurable than seeing an email inbox fill up on your phone with 20 "enjoy your purchase" emails. :D

I just love sniping and randomly get congratulated on winning bids.

When you get to a certain age, remembering what it was you intended to bid on becomes more problematic. As a result of this thread I signed up for a snipe service and did a test snipe on a coin I only sort of wanted just to see if it worked. It did. I also sniped five items that went way over my head including one that was still under my price at 10 seconds but four times my price at the end. Obviously snipers outnumber regular bidders and two of them bumped heads at 2 seconds. Last night I got an email from the snipe company reminding me I was going to bid on a coin in the future that I had forgotten about. We will see if I get more coins I like after a few months or if the fact that I bid cheaply outweighs the method those bids are placed.

I am not your age sir, and have the same problem. I think maybe its more too widely varied interests and too much looking at coins to keep track of them all. In all honesty, I would bid more on CNG and other auction sites if I had some kind of reminder or automatic sniping program that worked with their auctions. I cannot tell you how many times I forget about a couple of CNG or Triskeles lots I was interested in until its too late. For Ebay I can solve this problem by setting up my snipes and do not have to remember them. In fact, I just set up about 18 snipes for this weekend.

I do wish that either a sniping company or CNG and Triskeles had such a thing to work with there auctions. I just love sniping due to my ability to manage cash flow by cancelling planned bids as I wish. You cannot do that with placed bids.

Without a doubt in my military mind, sniping services has saved me from over-bidding, forgetting to bid, and managing my bids. Generally, since I consider myself a bottom-feeder, I do not get the coins at the bids I place, but at least I get my bids into the auction.

Congrats Ard-man and I too am looking forward to seeing your new acquisitions.
