This arrived in the mail yesterday. Been tracking this one for over a year, and it finally came available at a price I was willing to spend. I'm not concerned about the dull surface due to improper cleaning in it's past as it is unlisted in the Fuld reference, and an R-10 piece.
Gozno the first set of coins came out good I don't know anything about taking pictures, but I must say to me the two Franklins look good. The penny's do need work. The Bust Half. I find a little dark, but keep at it you will do just fine....Alan
Hey Bill, that is a very nice token, and for the year it is in great condition, Congrats on finally getting the coin you wanted...Alan
Actual picture of the toned ACE I got the other day, that just came in the mail. Nicer than the true view.
Thank you Alan. It seems that 1 cent coins are very difficult to image lol. I dont know how Robec manages to get such great images of 1 cents but one of these days I will figure it out. I am going to have to get in touch with Robec again to try and figure it out. Again thank you for the comment and have a great day.
And here is my final purchase of the day. Another Half this one a Seated Liberty for $50. Not too sure what happend to this one. The coin dealer had it marked as Marred Reverse XF Condition. Any thoughts???
Thanks Alan, I had to keep track of that specific coin as there isn't another brass like it, anywhere. I already have that variety in copper.
I bought my first counter stamped coin today. I've been scoping it out for a couple of months and finally got it today. If anybody knows anything about the name i would be grateful to hear about it. Bought the only year the dealer had that i needed for my seated quarter set. 1855
And an 1806 half cent. I bought this mostly cause i knew it was a small 6 but just couldn't remember if it needed to have stems or not to be worth money. To bad about the scratches on it as well. View attachment 270249
Id be more concerned about the obverse and the little playing going on around her breast area, the marring on the reverse would be alright, but those 'nips' just dont do it for me on lady liberty
I know what you mean but I needed one for my type set and all the ones I could afford where all in AG or G condition. This one was beautiful except for the marks on her. I figured she could use some love rather than the abuse she has endured.
Oh trust me I have no issues with problem coins, i was just a little confused that he would mark the reverse as marred and not note the obvious obverse damage. She really does have some great detail left on her though, its a shame she got fooled around with like she did.
I don't collect pennies parse, but I do have many tokens and fractional currencies from the Civil War area, and I thought I would add the Indian Coinage to it. This coin gives me the first three years of the war with only two more years to follow. I graded it as a VF30.
By the way, you're the creeper guy on the porch. I'm the normal guy. And the guy dancing at 3:04 is GDJMSP.
