I know I posted this one before, but I wanted to show my new presentation I have been working on...not much, but it took me 2 hours in photoshop to figure it out.

Been working on my editing skills too. Wanted to post my 1810.

    Can anyone attribute it?

Most of the halves struck from these dies were very poorly-struck. Here is mine, which shows lack-of-detail in the same spots as your coin.

I agree , but what do they mean by three dots and dash below left claw ? I don't see them . So they must not be too large .

Die defects, probably from something being dropped on the die during its production (similar to how the 1817 O.103 "Punctuated Date" variety was created).

Even though these defects are a diagnostic for the variety, it is much easier to attribute the O.101a by the die crack at S1 that extends into the denticles.

Thanks for the ID....much appreciated! Looks like I still need more detail on my photos as I can't see those dots on my photos. When I get home I'll check the coin as I'm sure they're there....

    *edit*

Yep, they're there....a bit worn, but I can see them with a magnifying glass.

After the obverse die developed a fatal crack, the die was really on its last leg and did not produce many coins thereafter.

Looks like they probably wore off by the time a coin reached high VF or sooner , thanks buddy . I sure wish someone would come out with a book with 1st class pics of the coins . Parsleys are mininum at best . Especially diagnostics like this , or when they say open mouth . I mean most are self explanatory but for the life of me the open mouth looks like a closed mouth . lol

i have only bought one bust half. it was an 1832 that was certified PR genuine by PCGS. however, PCGS made a mistake and the coin was not a proof coin. i sold the coin as a bussiness strike 1832 half dollar for $50.00.

Umm... what? That story makes no sense at all.

There are 3 auction records for Proof 1832 halves. The lowest sold for $29,900 and the highest sold for $225,500. Even in a low grade PR genuine G-VG details holder, you could probably get $3000 for it. So either someone ripped you off big time, or this is some sensational claim trying to draw a response (which it did).
