While there have been several new additions I have not bothered to post, I picked this one off the bay shortly after it was posted yesterday. Can't wait to get it in hand. I think after a nice dip in the VC torture chamber she will be one pretty cent Either way, nicest 56 I've seen in that price range yet
ok you can see the before. The coin arrived and had a "waxy" coating, that was removed with repeated dips in hot demineralized water and blotting. After that It was soaked in Verdi-Care for 15 minutes, rinsed in demineralized water and blotted dry.... End results?....... I'm happy with it
I like the effect. It didn't "improve" the surfaces as much as it removed the grease, grime and dirt which interfered with seeing the coin as it is as well as neutralize any nascent verdigris. This is what I call conservation and I heartily approve. However, it appears that is has revealed a harsh cleaning at some earlier point prior to it's grease, grime and dirt days. Bit hopefully, that was what was there all along and not new.
