Ordering window- shmordering window. I just bought another set a couple minutes ago. Did they mint more than the orders? Did they get so many cancellations that they decided to make them avaiable again? Let the flipper teeth gnashing begin! http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...1&parent_category_rn=10191&top_category=10191
Very wierd, because at the top of the page it says "No Longer Available, Sales Window closed at 5pm June 6, 2013" yet below that it shows "Add to Cart" as an option....
It says in more than one spot on that page "No Longer availible" The fact that you can add that SKU to your cart doesn't mean you will receive the item. The E-comm division of the mint could use some work to clear this confusion up. I would not worry. You can no longer order the set from the Mint. ( as it is stated in a multitude of Fonts, and descriptions on that very page you linked to) I have one on the way. I am rather excited! my first reverse proof US coin!
I would assume their E-Commerce systems, AKA website, are not perfect. Indeed - you can Tell the Website order more sets. But the order will not come to fruition. No matter what the websites says, they are not selling anymore past June 6th. Let us know if you do indeed receive this second order, but My bets are on this being a Ecomm error ( they happen all the time )
Yep, musta been a temporary glitch. Will be interested to see if the OP gets a cancellation notice, or if they fulfill the order.
Well I did get an order confirmation email. The mint has been known to put back up items that were supposedly sold out in the past. I remember a couple years ago a set of presidential rolls selling out and a week or so later they had them up for sale again. You had to go through the "no longer available" link to see them.
Just sit tight on the order and don't call the mint's attention to it. In other words, don't call to check on delivery or if it's a valid order. I had an order go through in 2009 that shipped immediately while everyone else was on hold, and I mean everyone. There are times that even the computers screw up and things happen. Good luck with the purchase!
I smell 'Harrison'.....the younger. Was lucky enough to score a few of those rolls from the mint after the sellout............
