Gorgeous Dime, giorgio11 => I have a quarter with the same cool reverse (omitting the DEI GRA) ... I also think that 1911 was a great year for Canadian coins!!
Glad you did George, I was wondering what you were going to post......not disappointed I can see why you think it's one of the prettiest; it's a beauty:thumb:
Good morning George, coins and canada has never graded one at ms-66, which if they graded your coin, I would say its worth more then any of the other company put for their price guide ! Last, coins and canada has no known errors for this coin ! And yes, coins and canada grades coins too ! I wouldn't send any canadian coins for grading to any-other company except, coins and canada, they are a canadian company, which is the best for grading canadian coins, in my opinion
Very nice coin. Not to take anything away from it, but you did mention the 67+ in the PCGS Registry. I have held the 67+ in my hands, at an outdoor pub in Toronto. It is part of the Perth Collection (a search of the Perth Collection coin sets on the PCGS Registry is astounding). http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=109011 I always love attending the Toronto coin shows, because this collector always brings out a registry set or two at the nearby pub...
We could be here all day on this one. I think it very much depends on which side of the border you live on, but I much prefer sharing coins rather than getting into the dialectics of this grading company vs. that one. Bottom line for us collectors, in my view, is to learn to grade for yourself and buy coins, not slabs. That is what I do. I own many raw coins as well but a lot of my higher-grade stuff is in PCGS or NGC holders, as well as some ICCS. Best Regards, :hail: George
Oh my goodness, I just died and went to Heaven. I love it when collectors post Mahvelous photographs of their coins. Folks take a look at the coins in this set! (You don't have to belong to PCGS.) I have gotta come to that show one of these years! Best Regards, :hail: George
Cool-looking token, Siberian Man. We call them Breton tokens, but they were nonetheless official, authorized provincial coinage, in fact designed by Leonard C. Wyon and struck at the private Heaton Mint (no mintmark). I think this one is Breton-976. Best Regards, :hail: George
King Edward VII 1907 Quarter MS63 PCGS Well it took me a while to recover from looking at the Perth Collection material. It's always nice to have something to strive for, n'est-ce pas? Down here where the hoi polloi live, up next is a 1907 quarter of King Edward VII. The quarters of this type are all hard to find in decent grades, for most of us ... The mintages were small, in the six figures from 1902 to 1906. Only the 1907, 1909, and 1910 (especially) save larger mintages. This Select (MS63) example is basically a nice silver-white piece. Haxby prices this at $1,100, CCN Trends at $1,800, and CoinsandCanada.com at $1,700. PCGS population: 11 in 63, 14 finer. Enjoy! Best Regards, :hail: George King Edward VII 1907 Quarter MS63 PCGS
Wow George => that's "stunning" (sadly, I only have VF30 1907 quarter, but no pix of it) Very pretty colour/hue as well (it almost looks 'gold') ... very smooth looking coin, that would stand-up pretty well against that purdy Perth Collection (congrats, coin-brother) :high5:
Here is another one of my sweet lil' Newf 20 cent pieces (man, I love the Newfie coins => low mintages, but they're still inexpensive until you other buggers finally catch-on!!) Ummm sure, this lil' baby may not be up to "Perth-standards", but I love it and I hope that you guys show it some love as well!! Cheers  1896 Newfie 20 Cent Piece (only 125,000 minted)
Not gold, that's just my crappy photographic skills coming through. Nice white color. Like your twenty cent too! Best Regards, :hail: George
Well, I'm not sure if I've told you dudes, but other than Full Proof Sets, my real Canadian interests are Canadian Quarters and Canadian paper-money => so most of the stuff that I'll be posting will be either Newfie 20 cents, or sweet early Canadian quarters .... ummm, kinda like this bad-boy!! (sorry that my photo-skilz are so poor *sigh* ... the coins are always far better in hand than they look through my crap-camera ... not that it is the camera's fault => "a good carpenter never blames his tools, eh"?) anyway ... here to rock your world, is Fast-Eddie and his souped-up 1909 quarter (EF, iridescent ... everything but racing stripes!! ... and only 1,340,000 minted) vroooom-vroooomm!!!
1880 Newfoundland 20 Cent 1880 Newfoundland 20 Cent ....the scuff marks are on the exterior plastic & all the little threads & fluff are between the plastic sleeves....mintage of 30,000
Are you sure you weren't just smoking, and got some ashes in the photos !!! LOL !!!! Great coin, thats for sure !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :secret:
25c Canada 1938 MS64 PCGS This is the second-year George VI quarter issue. I have a 1937 in the same grade but this 1938 is far more elusive grade-for-grade, I think because far fewer people kept back the second-year pieces. Haxby prices this at $285, CCN Trends at $350, and CoinsandCanada.com at $310. As I recall, the color is pretty accurate on this one. Purely accidental, I assure you Enjoy!
