Thanks folks!!! Took 3+ years or so. . . I still can't decide what coin(s)/currency to "specialize" in. About the time I get it figured out, I change my mind.
Just got this one today--Been looking for a nice, toned 51 Proof. They are not easy to find, and this one was extremely affordable, for a coin with eye appeal like that.
I know for sure I wish I found it 1st !!!!!! :thumb:I think I would gamble one more time and send it back ask for details???maybe it would come back with Cameo Nice Gemmy Coin No matter!!
I may send it out to NGC and go for "upgrade only" or no slab. I figured it should cross as a 65 with no problems, and wondered about the cameo, as 1950 and 1951 cameos are not easy to find--probably worth the gamble.
nice coin. I have been looking for a '51 for more than a year. I finally won a PF66 with nice but slight tone just yesterday. all the ones I see on the 'bay go for too much but I got one at another auction for $329. can't wait to get my sweaty mitts on it. it's the last one I needed.
Here is the 51 Franklin proof with my photos. I know you thought it might be cameo, Jello, but I don't think so--just very nice colors and very contrasty. I could see it as a PF 66, but no point in sending it in for that. Very happy with the coin, and only paid $275, which is a bargain for a high quality 51 Franklin proof.
Just plucked this one off of DLRC tonight, and now I have the full set of Franklin proofs. Pretty nice green bean coin!!!
