Sorry 7C, I don't collect these and was only taking a guess. Chrismat might be on to something though.
I don't think so. I own both and these are more complex than abassid or ummayad. I am guessing late medieval-early modern persian if i had to guess. Unfortunately they are out of my area as well.
Thank you all guys. Finally I found out for sure that it is an Umayyad coin, just as C71 said. Now, it seems that the most important thing is to discover the place of Mint in order to determine the value. As I learned, the difference in value could be enormous between a Mint and another. I shall try to find out, appreciating any assistance in this hard task. Charles
Charles, that is weird. It looks quite a bit different than my Ummayid coins, but then again its not my area. Maybe they changed the style over time. If it helps, I usually see these going for $20-30 on the low end, up to $60-80 on the higher end. I am not sure how much is ruler scarcity or condition though.
