Bank Story from Today

Recently I have been asking for $2 bills at banks as a break from CRH. The ones I have stopped at haven't had very many there, 10-15 tops to this point. Today I stopped at a Wells Fargo and asked the teller if he has any $2 bills. He says,"Absolutely, how many do you need?" He seemed pretty confident in his amount, so I answered, "$200 worth." He replies, "No problem, I have a lot more then that."

I asked him if they always have this many $2 bills. He tells me there is a strip club down the street from them that has a lot of $2 drink nights. So when customers buy drinks with 5's and 10's they give them back 2's in change which they then use to buy drinks or to tip the dancers. He said almost everyday the dancers come in with a ton of $2 bills to cash in.

As I'm leaving the teller says,"Stop in anytime you want more. I can't guarantee how hygenic they will be, but we will have them here."

Was not what I was expecting to hear when I went in, but definitely made me laugh. I'll have to stop in again next time I am there.

I'll bet you could turn a healthy profit on those on eBay -- with a properly crafted description.

Considering where some of these may have been I would have to agree with you ;)

What a great source of $2 bills.

I hear you, would never have expected that to be the source.

i would never take bills from a strip club to collect. i worked at a bank for many years and had a few strippers as customers. they brought in some of the rattiest nasty bills you could ever see. lol pass :)

Surprisingly they aren't in too bad shape, but I'm definitely not going to inspect too closely.

Puts a whole new meaning to the term "laundering money", as thats what you might want to consider in the literal sense.

You can cut out having to go to the bank for the $2 bills by just becoming a stripper yourself. Worst case scenario -- the people pay you to get off of the pole and put your clothes back on.

Hmmm is this around central Ohio? Of course not that I would ever go to a place like this, but there is a club there that would only give out fresh $2 for all transactions in an effort to have the customers tip more. Needless to say it worked. The last visit there they began printing their only money and that was what you received as change. Classy joint.

  15. Forget the $2 bills, just hang around the bank and enjoy the view.

It's in PA, but apparently it sounds like a lot of these places do this, like you said to get bigger tips. I know when I've been to bars in Canada in the past all I would get in change was the $2 coins.

Check them closely for garter belt marks. You may need to cherry pick.

Every time when the subject of dropping the dollar bill comes up someone always comes up with the argument about how would you tip the strippers at the night club. And I always say they will use $2's. Some bars have already figured this out and use 2's as change such as the one discussed above. So much for that argument for keeping the one.

I have an idea, maybe you should go to the club, take a bunch of photos of the strippers, post them in this thread, and we can help you to determine the price you can get off them on Ebay.

Well, being a stripper is like being a celebrity. If you wear it on the job, it increases in price instead of decreasing.
