    TypicalCreepahx Hello There! ( ͡⚆ ͜ʖ ͡⚆)

I was struck at the San Fancisco Mint in 1909. Along with all my copper friends i was packaged and sent to a bank. In my paper roll i was encased between a Joker And A crazy one.
" I cant wait to start my adventure." they would say.
I could still remember like it was yesterday, my family trailing behind me. But when i hit the crate everyone was seperated...
" I would like 10 dollars in pennies ma'm" I heard someone say. Suddenly i felt the presence of a hand around me. I was dropped into a bag and enjoyed the noise everyone made on the car ride. "What is this human going to do with us?"
We were put into a dark room and suddenly the door closed, i heard a lock.. I felt sick. We spent the rest of our lives stuck in this dark room.. Sometimes it would get hot, sometimes it got cold. I could hear thumping above us, like something was walking over us. I closed my eyes, i was stuck here forever.
One day we heard a click, then a thunk above us. A "beep beep beep" went off and i could hear something clanging against the walls. Just then i heard screaming and laughter. Our home was picked up and brought somewhere else where I heard saws sawwing against the walls. A chainsaw, and even a huge hammer dented our walls. Just then everyone rolled out and onto the floor. The owner gasped and quickly picked us up and opened all of us. 'Click, Clack' I heard a computer go. After a good nights sleep i felt us being picked up again and put into a large yellow bag.
    "mmm, very good. How much?"
" I was hoping in the range of 1 million sir, these are unopened pennies from 1909, all san fancisco mint."
Just then i heard laughter and the door bell jingled. We were opened up and he was sorting through all of us. He paused however when he saw me. He turned me over to my reverse and saw something that made him really happy.
    " A GEM MINT 1909 S VDB PENNY! "
He quickly examined all the other coins, not made him as happy as I made him. He enclosed me in a capsule and I was mailed off. The next time I saw light it was in an office room and people were all crowded around me. They took out some magnifiers and nodded. They seemed impressed. I was put into a much more comfortable capsule, and was mailed off again. When i was returned to my owner he looked excited.
    " An MS 69 1909 S V.D.B" How could this be?
He put me into his backpack and got into his car. I could hear excited hoots! He screamed and swerved off the road. His backpack hit the side of the car and i flew out of the unzipped zipper and out of the cracked window. I landed in a bush.. the car suddenly ran over me.. My perfect surface was cracked and flattened. I was no longer feeling fabulous. I stayed there for a while until i heard another beeping. A man picked me up and put me in his pocket. When he got home he took out his jar of pennies and put me into it. He put us into the fireplace where we were melted... My life was over.

NOTE: I DID THIS AS A FUN 20 MINUTE STORY. I DID NOT REVISE, EDIT OR CHECK. THIS STORY WAS CREATED IN 20 MINUTES! SO NOT CRITISM PLEASE!

Such woeful tragedy........the story brought tears to my eyes. For a brief, shinning moment I thought our protagonist was going to find happiness. I even thought that maybe he would find his way into a young mans collection. A young man who had a dog named spot or fido, but no, the ill hand of fate struck an evil blow. The smelters pot! Oh woeful day.........

    Alternative Ending: For Green18.

A man picked me up and put me in his pocket. When he got home he took out his jar of pennies and put me into it. Just then his finger slipper and he dropped the jar. Glass everywhere. Just then the man's grandson woke up and walked down the stairs. He was about 5 years old, he picked up the penny.
    "Whats this papa?" he asked.
The old man tried to pry it from his fingers, the kid didnt budge. The old man gave up, and cleaned up the mess and put the rest of the pennies into the smelting place.
That night when the baby was fast asleep the man seized the penny. He knew something was special when he saw the wheatback and the V.D.B. He had thought it was a newer modern day penny! It was mighty shiny and full of luster. He turned it around. Lincoln's face had been smooshed but he could see the S mint mark. Immediately he screamed, waking up the child who when he saw the man holding the penny, he wanted it back. The man gave it back to him in a capsule and from that day on the boy searched through everyone coin in the penny jar, in hopes of finding another one.

Nice, although technically they are cents, not "pennies". ;)

I like the alternative ending better. :) Glad no one got cut by the broken glass, that would have been awful.

The kid still needs a dog.............

But then one day their dog swallowed the coin so they had to do surgery and they found out he had a 1913 V nickel inside of him that he had accidently swallowed. They sold it and they saved the dog. They lived a happy life in wealthinesssss.

Funny! I made a sequel that involves posting the coin on CoinTalk :D It ends with the cent surviving a nuclear war.

I would never! (Well actually I can't say that, one time I dipped some circulation cents in rubbing alcohol to see what they would look like... )

What did they end up looking like?

Not very good I'm afraid. The toning was hard to see and it looked messy.
