Well, got my two 1974-S SP Micro-S coins back from beign DIVA'ed. Originally I picked up the PR68 with the intention to get it DIVA'ed and then flip it for a nice profit, but during the process it was discovered that the MMP was different in the two coins, leading these to be from Different Dies! Guess I have to keep them now . More info on the Micro S can be found over on the ikegroup.info webpage. http://forum2.ikegroup.info/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=1806 Also picked up a couple of Varieties to add to my collection: Both are raw, but destined for PCGS Hardware!
Bought a full album. I was hoping I wasn't bidding against any of you. Based on the price, I wasn't... All the clad BU and a couple PF dollars were toned. Here are a few examples. You can see all of them here. They all have huge luster. I am still in a little shock.
I spent a few days catching up. It's truly a remarkable thread abounding in beautiful coins and excellent photography. I'm most impressed with the quality of the '71 and '72 issues in the first 100 pages. I really need to figure out how to use a digital camera and post pics.
Its not that im not actively buying nice coins just that im not keeping them, more or less flipping them to make profit. The toned Ikes i just sold on eBay recently surprised me because i listed them as buy it now format and they were gone in minutes with prices that leave room to make a little something. I figure either this gamble is gonna produce a nice toner and if not i still have two silver PCGS certified Ikes and for the money i paid if its a bust im not out but a few dollars....
Check out this gorgeous toner selling over at heritage...... http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1186&lotNo=8791
Indeed, that's quite pretty. Wonder if the green is real or just a photo reflection... haven't seen many with that coloring. Anyone see/bid/win this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-S-Silv...Bbu0lQoQNne7t%2FGZCJQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Stunning colors. Peg leg to boot.
Kind of steep for an uncertified toner, although i will say I do like it very much indeed and can see why someone would want it especially since it looks like it will get the DCAM or CAM designation.......
I watched it until it passed $100, then stopped looking. Crazy numbers. I have never seen one with colors like that that actually grades. Even though it is still in the government packaging, there are no guarantees that it won't get body bagged as AT. I've heard of people pumping gas into government packaging to achieve similar results.
I saw another one that went for $56 at the same time. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321129404341&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBUAA:US:3160 Missed the end of this auction, had intended to put in another bid, but missed out. Funny how one went for over $200 and the other was a quarter of that. Guess the 0 in feedback score may have played a role.
Ugh. Those are both terrible and I feel bad for the buyers. They could have bought them for $12 each and did it themselves in 5 minutes. Also, take a look at that yahoos other items. If that doesn't sound off an alarm to a buyer, then I don't know what would. http://www.ebay.com/sch/k-l-r-c/m.html?item=321132729800&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
