Double strikes are damaged by the mint. So it wouldn't be PMD.

Which is 'technically' a mint damage, but NOT post-mint.

 

PMD stands for post-mint damage. This isn't a double strike. It is either heavy circulation wear, a hit, or both.

 

how can a number be moved without damage to where the number was

 

Circulation wear can flatten out parts of a coin without there appearing to be much damage.

 

Is that what that means? I thought it meant Projected Mechanical Devices....:too-funny: Once again I will repeat myself....double strikes are not PMD, they occur in Mint.

 

No one is arguing that double strikes are PMD...
